Registration open for youth football and cheerleading
The Canfield Little Cardinals Football and Cheerleading Club has opened registration for the 2015 season.
Participants can register online at www.canfieldlittlecardinals.com. There will be no walk up registration this year. There will be two cheerleading uniform fittings scheduled for May 17 and July 19 from 12-2 p.m. at McCune Park Community Building (Registration must be paid prior to fittings). Registration is open to all boys and girls who live in the Canfield school district between ages 6-12.
The Cardinals will be competing in the YAC Conference again this season. Teams include Austintown Colts and Little Falcons, Boardman, Howland, Warren and Steubenville. The season opener will be August 23 with Canfield hosting Steubenville. Practice starts July 6 for football players and July 27 for cheerleaders.
Coach Dave Crawford will head up coaching the 140 pound team and Andy Smyczynski will be coaching the 120 pound squad, while Christian Syrianoudis will take the reins of the 100 pound team. Jessica Kabetso returns as the 140 cheer coach, while Heather Latone will move up to coach the 120 girls. Summer Black will take the helm of the 100 cheer squad.
The Little Cardinals provide cheerleading and football programs to more than 200 boys and girls. The program is focused on teaching teamwork, the fundamentals of youth football and cheerleading in a safe and competitive environment.
