METRO DIGEST || Free smoke alarms Saturday in Pulaski

Free smoke alarms

PULASKI, Pa.

The American Red Cross will partner with the Pulaski Township Volunteer Fire Department Saturday to distribute fire-safety information, including instructions on how to obtain a free smoke alarm. Staff and volunteers from the Red Cross will canvass selected neighborhoods between 9 a.m. and noon.

Smoke alarms cut the risk of death from a fire in half and is the reason the Red Cross and fire departments are working together to install fire alarms and teach people about fire safety.

Pulaski residents also can register for a free alarm by calling 724-962-9180.

After the registration is submitted, firefighters from the local fire departments will make arrangements to visit homes to install the alarms.
