Feds indict inmate on narcotics charge

CLEVELAND

A federal grand jury has indicted a 30-year-old man for illegally possessing a narcotic drug while he was an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution at Elkton in Columbiana County.

The single-count indictment issued Wednesday says Albert Hewins possessed five suboxone strips containing buprenorphine on May 23, 2014.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and the FBI and is being prosecuted by David M. Toepfer, a Youngstown-based assistant U.S. attorney.
