CLUBS
DAR Mahoning Chapter will meet at noon Monday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. “Five Steps to Loving Your Heart” will be presented by member Marty Campana. Guests are asked to arrive no later than 11:45 so the meeting can start promptly. After lunch and the presentation of the program, a business meeting will take place. The meeting will end with the election of the 2015-2017 officers.
Mahoning Valley Stamp Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The club meets the second Thursday of each month.

Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club will have its monthly meeting May 19 at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Canfield. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m., and the meeting at 7. Amateur Extra Licensed club members will give a presentation on how to program hand-held transceivers and continuing education on amateur radio. Members are encouraged to take hand-held radios, radio manuals and a note-pad and pen. Amateur radio licensing classes and examinations are available. Members also provide voluntary communication services at various community events and during natural disasters. Anyone interested is welcome to attend to learn more about the hobby. Youngstown Mothers of Twins Club will have its monthly meeting Wednesday, which will be Ladies’ Night Out with a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. The cost is $30 per person and the bus will depart at 4:30 p.m. from Affluent Travel on Southern Boulevard.
GROUPS
Metaphysical Insights 528 Group will present the Rev. Timothy J. Brainard Wednesday at the SCOPE Building, 220 W. Market St., Warren. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7. Admission is $5 at the door. The Rev. Mr. Brainard recently celebrated his 50th anniversary of speaking at Lily Dale. At age 16 he began giving messages at Lily Dale. There he continued to work and study in the Field of Spirituality and Metaphysics, and Psychic Mediumship. Mr. Brainard was ordained in IGAS Church in 1979.
Transcendental Interest Group will have its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Group coordinator Dr. Agnes Martinko will continue analysis of the 1984 miniseries “The Jewel in the Crown.” The portion screened will introduce a new cast of characters that are dealing with the hardships of World War II. Take a half-yard each of fashion fabric and lining, optional light batting, a nylon zipper at least 12 inches long or a metal zipper from 7 to 9 inches, thread for three- or four-thread overlock stitch BSS. LIBRARY FRIENDS
Friends of the Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday for a program, “Architectural Stories,” presented at 10 by Chris Klingemeir. Hostesses will be Reene Cole, Beverly Yurcisin, Doris Almasy and Irene Parker. Donations of magazines, books, CDs, and DVDs will be collected on the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. Proceeds help support the summer reading program.
