Austintown man faces drug charges after arrest in Boardman

BOARDMAN — An Austintown man faces multiple misdemeanor charges after Boardman police arrested him Thursday at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Alexander Rood, 22, is charged with theft, and possessing drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia after he reportedly attempted to steal a pair of pliers and mints from the store.

Police then found hypodermic syringes with residue, two crack pipes and a spoon in his possession.

Police released Rood on a summons, and he is scheduled to appear Tuesday in Mahoning County Area Court here.
