More charges pile up in two Friday night Warren gas station robberies

Staff report

WARREN

Police still won’t say exactly what occurred during two gas-station robberies Friday night, but they’ve filed additional charges against one person and issued arrest warrants for three others.

Two additional charges — aggravated robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm — have been filed against De’Shawn L. Dorsey, 24, of Jefferson Street Southwest, that pertain to an 8:10 p.m. armed robbery of a woman at USA Gas Mart, 307 Pine Ave. SE.

Dorsey already was charged with two counts of felonious assault and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm related to an armed robbery and gunfire at the BP gas station on East Market Street at 8 p.m.

He is being held in the Trumbull County jail without eligibility to make bond after his Wednesday arraignment on the five charges. Not-guilty pleas were entered for him.

Police charged Darius Priest, 23, of Homewood Avenue Southeast, with complicity in the USA Gas Mart robbery, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police issued arrest warrants charging Carlos Bell, 33, of Oregon Avenue Northwest, and Adante Mallory, 28, of South Feederle Drive Southwest, with three counts each of felonious assault and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm in the BP incident.

John Daniel, 21, of Burton Street Southeast, also is facing charges of felonious assault, aggravated robbery and being a felon in possession of a firearm in the BP incident after he showed up at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on Friday night with a gunshot wound to the buttocks. He is likewise being held in jail with eligibility to make bond after his arraignment Wednesday. A not-guilty plea also was entered for him.

A girl, 15, was hit in the eyes with flying glass from the gunfire that resulted from the confrontation in the BP parking lot, police said. Bell was treated at St. Joseph Warren Hospital for a superficial gunshot wound to the arm.

Warren police denied The Vindicator’s public-records request Wednesday for a copy of the surveillance videos from both robberies, saying the videos are “a product of an ongoing criminal investigation.”
