Boardman woman victim of utility man ruse

A township woman fell victim to what police say in a report was a "utility man ruse" when she let two men who claimed to work for the water department into her home. 

The victim, 62, of Marlindale Avenue, who uses a wheelchair, reported to police that she let two men into her house Wednesday morning when they said they had to check the pressure in her house.

The victim said one suspect attempted to distract her while another went into her bedroom. 

The suspects fled after she realized what they were doing, she said. She did not think they got away with any of her property, but ransacked her bedroom.
