Jurors in Mascarella trial watch video of 2013 robbery

YOUNGSTOWN — Jurors today in the trial of a man facing 15 counts of aggravated robbery in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for a string of armed robberies in October of 2013 saw video of an Oct. 8, 2013 robbery of a Family Dollar store on Market Street.

Judge Lou D'Apolito also denied a motion by the attorney of Joseph Mascarella, 20, because of an undocumented photo identification of the defendant.

A city patrolman also testified about responding to robberies on Oct. 8 and Oct. 12, 2013, at the Family Dollar and a Taco Bell on Market Street.

Mascarella is accused of taking part in six different robberies. His trial began Monday.
