Warren man held on $1 million bond after admitting to rape

Jesse W. Young, 37, of Maryland Street Northeast is in the Trumbull County jail in lieu of $1 million bond after taking himself and a 7-year-old female relative to the Warren Police Department on Saturday morning — and admitting raping her, reports say.

Young, who apparently has no felony record in Mahoning and Trumbull counties, told police his crimes against the girl began with inappropriate touching when she was 1 year old in 2008 and progressed to rape as recently as 2013, when she was 6.

Young was taken into custody, and Trumbull County Children Services was contacted to care for the girl, now 7. There was no mention of the girl’s mother, and detectives knowledgeable about the case were not available to comment.

A not-guilty plea was entered for Young during his arraignment Monday in Warren Municipal Court.
