“Gotham” (8 p.m., Fox): “Gotham” closes out a first season that was both riveting and revolting as the city is plagued by a vicious gang war. Too bad Batman can’t show up to save the day.

“Kurt Cobain: MONTAGE OF HECK” (9 P.M., HBO): Both thrilling and devastating, this remarkable new documentary from director Brett Morgen explores the indelible life and legacy of the late Nirvana rocker. Morgen gained unprecedented access to Cobain’s personal archives, and relies on that material to offer an unflinchingly intimate portrait of an iconic musician who lived on the fine edge between madness and genius. “David Letterman: A LIFE ON TELEVISION” (9:30 P.M., CBS): Host Ray Romano explores the late-night talker’s career from his days as an Indiana weatherman.

“Castle” (10 p.m., ABC): It’s not-quite-live from New York as a murder takes place at a comedy show reminiscent of “Saturday Night Live.” Singer Carly Rae Jepsen guests.

“The Returned” (10 p.m., A&E): On “The Returned,” Peter (Jeremy Sisto) has a starling announcement. Then again, what could be more startling than a bunch of dead people coming back to life?

Junk in Trunk sale for animal charity

AUSTINTOWN

Legacy Dog Rescue will have a Junk in the Trunk yard sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Family Video, 4385 Kirk Road. Vendor spaces can be rented for $10. Call 330-720-0470.

The event also will include a bake sale by Youngstown Dogs. Baked goods will be accepted that morning.
