Stauffer files to seek Austintown seat

YOUNGSTOWN — The Rev. Rick Stauffer, pastor of Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Raccoon Road, turned in his forms to run for a full Austintown trustee term at 10 a.m. today.

Stauffer has been an interim trustee for almost two months after being appointed by the campaign committee of Lisa Oles following her departure from the area.

When Stauffer was sworn into office in early March, he was unsure if he would run for the full term in November. Oles was in the last year of her term.

"I love being a servant leader in the community and I'm excited," Stauffer said Monday at the Mahoning County Board of Elections office.
