WARREN

Registration is open for the Sutliff Museum’s three one-day bus tours. This summer, Victorian homes will be visited in May, June and July.

Here is the schedule:

Frick Art and Historical Center: The first trip will take place May 20 to the Frick Art and Historical Center in Pittsburgh.

The museum and its multiple collections are the legacy of Helen Clay Frick, daughter of Henry Clay Frick, one of America’s greatest industrialists and art collectors. Guests will experience history in a distinctive, memorable way with a docent-led tour of Clayton, the historic home of the Frick family. After the tour of the house, the group will have lunch and then time to browse the shops along Walnut Street in the upscale Shadyside neighborhood.

This trip will leave at 8 a.m. The cost is $47.

Hoover Historical Center: The second tour will take place June 11 to the Hoover Historical Center in North Canton.

This site was the boyhood home of Hoover Co. founder William H. Hoover. Guided tours begin in a modest 1840s building that served as home for the Hoover family in 1852 until they constructed their farm house in 1853. The story of the Hoover legacy unfolds in the Victorian Italianate-style farmhouse. Lunch and shopping will be next door at the Washington Square Plaza, followed by a tour of the Fannie May-Harry London Chocolate Factory.

This trip will leave at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $47.

Millersburg Glass Museum: On July 14, the final tour will go to the Victorian House Museum and the Millersburg Glass Museum in Millersburg. The house museum is in the heart of Ohio’s largest Amish settlement. The glass museum is in the Holmes County Cultural Center. Light lunch is provided by the Castle Club.

This trip will leave at 8 a.m. The cost is $60.

Each trip includes transportation, admissions, snacks, guides and insurance. The bus will leave from the Walmart parking lot on Elm Road and will return by 6 p.m. Each trip is limited to 50 people. Only the first floor of each house is handicapped- accessible.
