The Basilica of the Sacred Heart was the setting of the 3 p.m. March 21 exchange of vows for Elizabeth Jane Luppi of Fairview, Texas, and Anthony Farina of Hamilton, Ohio. The Rev. Thomas Ziegler presided, and the Rev. Ronald Maag was concelebrant.

A reception followed at McKenna Hall.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Lawrence and Jane Luppi of Fairview. James and Mary Farina of North Lima are parents of the groom.

The bride wore a beaded white gown with sleeves and a train. Her ensemble was completed by a beaded bridal cap that was previously worn by her grandmother and mother.

The bride’s sister, Monica Luppi, was maid of honor, and Dr. Karen Cheng was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Cecilia Luppi, Kathleen Luppi and Grace Luppi, sisters of the bride; Bianca Rosenthal; and Katherina Scardina. The groom’s niece, Lucia Farina, was flower girl. The attendants wore marine blue floor-length dresses.

Performing the duties of best man was the groom’s brother, James Farina II. Groomsmen were Larry Luppi and Tony Luppi, brothers of the bride; and Richard Klaus. The groom’s nephew, Enzo Farina, was ring bearer.

The bride earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from the University of California, Irvine, as well as a master’s degree in teaching from the University of Southern California. She is a credit underwriter at Bank of America in Cincinnati.

Her husband received degrees in civil engineering, earning his bachelor’s at the University of Notre Dame and master’s at Purdue University. He is an engineer at Hazen and Sawyer in Cincinnati.

After their wedding, the Farinas reside in Hamilton.
