Bingo night set at St. Mary’s center

GCU Lodge 164 and St. Mary Church will host a night of bingo May 10 at St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave., to benefit the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry and Beatitude House.

Doors will open at 4:15 p.m., and bingo will begin at 6:45 p.m.

MV Mustangs to host cruise-in

Mahoning Valley Mustangs will have a membership drive when the club hosts the first cruise-in of the season from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Quaker Steak & Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd., in Austintown.

Features include a DJ, basket auction, for which participants don’t have to be present to win, and giveaways. The family-oriented organization has raised more than $50,000 for charities in the Valley.

Salem Chamber offers Adopt a Planter event

The Salem Beautification Committee announces that the public will have the chance to buy flowers for the downtown containers via the Adopt a Planter program.

SBC will buy the flowers and plant them in May. A marker will be placed in each planter with the donor’s name, and the donor may add “in honor of” or “in memory of” an organization or loved one.

Prices are $20 for a small urn, $25 for a tall urn and $35 for a large urn.
