For 2nd straight year, Vindicator wins General Excellence statewide award from AP

COLUMBUS
For the second consecutive year, The Vindicator has won the prestigious General Excellence award from the Associated Press Media Editors organization. The award and others were handed out at a luncheon in Columbus this afternoon.
Sixty-two daily newspapers submitted 2,395 entries in the contest, which featured news and sports stories, features, editorials, columns, graphics and photos from 2014.
In addition to General Excellence, The Vindicator won 12 first-place awards and 21 second- and third-place awards in the competition.
It competed in Division IV, which is made up of newspapers with circulations of 25,000 to 74,999.
The Associated Press is a not-for-profit news cooperative representing 1,400 daily newspapers and 5,000 broadcast stations in the United States. Members of AP include 85 daily newspapers in Ohio.
