Spring break kicked off at the Skate Zone in Austintown starting on March 31. To celebrate students’ break from school, Skate Zone offered one free activity per person per day. All that was required was a printed voucher from the website in order to participate.
Activities for this two week-long event included roller skating, laser tag, webcity and bumper cars. The event extended until April 12 with varying times for the coupon’s validity — specific times were posted at Skate Zone and on the website at skatezonefun.com.
Friends and families came to Skate Zone for their free events and more. The free time off school drew in families to have fun together.
Nylia Howell came with two other friends on April 4, ready to roller skate.
“We were bored and it was something to do,” Howell said. “It’s cool that they offer free stuff here though.”
Robert Latimer, office manager at Skate Zone, said he likes events like this because they really bring in the crowds — and children.
“The best part about Spring Break is it’s free,” Latimer said. “And [it’s] at the largest indoor-outdoor fun center in the tri-county area.”
Other events, vouchers and coupons for Skate Zone throughout the year can be found on Skate Zone’s website.
