A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:
POLAND
April 23
Drugs: A traffic stop on Renwick Drive led to a minor-misdemeanor citation charging a 17-year-old township boy with having contraband that included a bag of suspected marijuana, a device commonly used to grind marijuana, a digital scale and a suspected marijuana pipe.
April 26
Menacing: A township man told officers he had been threatened.

April 26
Arrest: Authorities responded to an unwanted person in the 100 block of Afton Avenue, then charged 27-year-old Carrie A. Christoff with resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Christoff, of Moyer Avenue, Boardman, was intoxicated and refused to leave the propert y; she also jumped into a van and failed to follow officers’ commands, they alleged.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a shed in the 5700 block of Youngstown-Poland Road and removed a push mower, several folding tables and a lawn mower. The loss was estimated at $4,080.
Theft: Andrea M. Kaltenbach, 33, of Sequoya Drive, Boardman, was charged with stealing three boxes of hair coloring from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Arrest: A traffic stop near U.S. Route 224 and Market Street resulted in the arrest of 18-year-old Christopher M. McConnville Jr. of Cunningham Street, Salem, on misdemeanor charges of selling liquor to an underage person, endangering children, operating a vehicle impaired and possession of drug paraphernalia. McConnville had a jar containing suspected marijuana debris, and had an underage person in the vehicle, a report stated.
Breaking and entering: Someone used a rock to smash a window and break into Imperial Garden restaurant, 7098 Lockwood Blvd. An undisclosed sum of money was missing.
Criminal mischief: A Lemans Drive couple noticed that eggs had been tossed at their vehicles.
Theft: A wallet and a purse were stolen from a car in the 50 block of Lemans Drive.
Robbery/assaults: Two Hillman Way girls told police four girls with whom they have had ongoing problems punched and kicked them, then used a stun gun on one of the accusers before taking an apartment key and a pair of prescription glasses.
Arrest: Samantha L. Thurber, 26, who listed Austintown addresses on Nantucket and Fountain Square drives, was charged with operating a vehicle impaired after having been pulled over near South Avenue.
Attempted theft: Someone tried to enter a vehicle in the 5000 block of Aravesta Avenue.
Breaking and entering: A break-in occurred at Main Moon restaurant, 7050 Market St., through the front door, though police found no signs of forced entry. Taken was an undisclosed amount of money.
Theft: A $750 laptop computer was removed from a vehicle in the 50 block of Gillian Lane.
Theft by deception: A Hitchcock Road woman told authorities a caller from Hyattsville, Md., claiming she had won a government-issued grant asked her to provide $230 up front, apparently in an effort to obtain her debit-card information.
Menacing: A Philadelphia man saw a threatening message on his Facebook page while at a South Avenue motel.
Theft: A Reta Lane woman discovered three debit cards and a driver’s license missing from her car.
April 27
Arrest: Officers responded to a possible vehicular accident in the 100 block of Brainard Drive, where they charged 62-year-old Glenn R. Berch of West Ravenwood Avenue, Youngstown, with operating a vehicle impaired. Berch’s blood-alcohol count was 0.179, more than twice the legal limit, a report showed.
Theft: A $1,200 laptop computer was removed from a vehicle in the 70 block of Lemans Drive.
Menacing: A Canfield man said he had been threatened while at his girlfriend’s Centervale Avenue home.
Arrest: Authorities dealing with a trespassing situation at Buffalo Wild Wings in Southern Park Mall charged Alberto B. Ponciano of Market Street, North Lima, with criminal trespassing, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Ponciano, 35, refused to leave and struggled with officers, a report showed.
Theft: Police at the Mahoning County jail arrested 20-year-old Jesse L. Shiflett on a theft charge. Shiflett, of East Myrtle Avenue, Youngstown, was accused of stealing merchandise, including shampoo, from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Theft: A man in the 4600 block of Simon Road reported his $25 trash can stolen.
Theft: A man and a woman reportedly stole 80 pairs of undergarments valued at $1,000 from Victoria’s Secret in Southern Park Mall.
Attempted burglary/damage: Someone trying to break into a residence in the 20 block of Leighton Avenue did roughly $50 in damage to the front door’s molding.
Theft/criminal damaging: Someone in the 2000 block of Wolosyn Circle damaged a car’s window before taking an AM/FM/compact-disc player.
Weapon: Police were to charge a 38-year-old township man with one felony count of improper handling of a firearm, though no other details were in the report.
Theft: A man and a woman stole $50 worth of property from Walmart.
Theft: A woman noticed a $750 iPhone missing from her home in the 4800 block of Erie Street.
April 28
Arrest: Authorities conducting a welfare check at a Market Street motel took into custody Jason B. Engle of Pleasant Park Court Northwest, Warren. The 42-year-old Engle was wanted on two probation-violation charges.
Assault: An elderly man reported another man pushed him to the ground after the accuser had asked the man to leave his Market Street apartment.
Burglary: To a home in the 100 block of Wildwood Drive via a side door. A 50-inch TV and a home-theater system were taken.
Theft: Police charged 45-year-old Nichole D. Trimble of East Evergreen Avenue, Youngstown, in the theft of $171 worth of merchandise, including a shirt, from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Jeffrey L. Allen, 61, was arrested at his Arlene Avenue residence on a theft charge. The Boardman man was accused of stealing a snow blower March 10 from a nearby home.
Misuse of a credit card: An Aylesboro Avenue man discovered on his bank-issued credit card a $242 unauthorized charge that had originated in Toronto.
Theft: A vehicle in the 200 block of Melrose Avenue was found with its rear license plate missing.
Theft: A man reportedly stole a $180 Bluetooth device from Kmart.
Harassment: A Bonnie Place man noticed an unwanted Facebook message on his iPhone.
Burglary: About $1,200 worth of jewelry was removed from an apartment in the 5600 block of Southern Boulevard after someone had entered, likely through an unlocked window.
Theft: A woman took 10 bags of candy from Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.
Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown man learned that his stolen card had been used without authorization to make a $238 purchase from a South Avenue discount store.
Theft: A man stole three pairs of socks from Dollar General, 4996 Market St.
Theft: A wallet was among items removed from a car in the 1900 block of Peachtree Court.
Theft by deception: A Struthers woman told police a caller claiming she was eligible for a $9,999 government-backed grant instructed her to first send a $199 processing fee to Thailand via Western Union. While at a Doral Drive big-box store for that purpose, she learned that it was a scam.
April 29
Burglary: Someone forcibly entered an Old Oxford Lane apartment, from which four firearms and a belt were stolen.
