niles relay
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Niles, which will start at 6 today at the Mayor Infante Wellness Center at Waddell Park, 213 Sharkey Drive, will offer something new this year; a 5K glow run/walk during the relay.
The top runners will receive awards, and goody bags are guaranteed for the first 50 registrants.
The cost to enter the glow run/walk is $25. Runners are invited to register the day of the race; however, only cash or check payments will be accepted. Registration will take place from 10 to 10:45 p.m., and the race will begin at 11 p.m.
leadership class
Applications for the Leadership Mahoning Valley Class of 2015-16 will be accepted through today.
The program provides adult community leaders with an overview of the Mahoning Valley, an opportunity for increased understanding of key community issues and the chance to develop working relationships with civic leaders.
The nine-month program includes nine monthly day sessions.
A selection committee composed of Leadership Mahoning Valley members will review all applications submitted by the deadline. Up to 40 participants will be selected.
The tuition fee of $2,000 covers all program costs, including meals, admission fees and program supplies. Selected applicants will be billed for tuition. Applications may be requested by email at karen@regionalchamber.com, or by phone at 330-744-2131, ext. 41.
Health screenings
Agape Assembly Church, 426 Nevada Ave. SW, Warren, offers the “Power to End Stroke” Community Health Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
This free event features presentations from medical professionals, free health screenings, tips for recognizing and responding to signs of stroke in adults and children, prize giveaways and wellness-focused activities for children.

Free Salsa Lesson
Kuzman’s Lounge, 1025 S. State St., Girard, goes south of the border to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, embracing Hispanic music and dancing with a free dance party Monday, sponsored by USA Dance Youngstown Warren Chapter 2015 and Kuzman’s.
The event is from 6 to 9 p.m. There’s a special treat — a free Salsa lesson sponsored by Teresa Flora of Latin American Ballroom with Teresa.
Come to a fiesta of Latin music, nachos, salsa and dance fun. Learn the Salsa, shake your maracas and dance your troubles away.
