Cruze sales down 3.7 percent in April


LORDSTOWN — April sales on the Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze were down by 3.7 percent from last April, according to General Motors’ sales numbers released this morning.

In total, there were 20,947 Cruzes sold this April compared with 21,752 last April.

Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers in the U.S. delivered 269,056 vehicles in April 2015, up 6 percent year over year.

Retail deliveries were up 5 percent, fleet deliveries were up 8 percent and commercial sales were the highest since March 2008.

GM’s crossover sales had the best month ever, and pickup sales were up 22 percent.

GM beat some analyst projections for the month. Kelley Blue Book analysts projected the automaker would sell 263,000 vehicles.
