C.H. Campbell Elementary School students and their families got their glow on during the school’s annual Spring Festival with lots of games, food and fun March 26.
With the theme ‘Get Your Glow On,’ students and their families wore neon T-shirts and were treated to a black room where everything glowed.
Armed with glow sticks, attendees entered the transformed library and were instantly met with dance music and brightly colored displays. A dance team, decked out with glow sticks, was there to get the party started and dance with the students.
“The kids were pumped up all week for this. The could not wait to wear their neon shirts and many of them work them to school today,” said Christy Durham, C.H. Campbell PTO president and Spring Fest chair.
The evening offered bounce arounds, a photo booth, a disc jockey, games, face painting and a Chinese auction, which featured baskets donated from local businesses classroom baskets with items donated from students and their families.
“We have such amazing and generous parents here at C.H. The family support is just amazing,” Durham said.
Spring Fest is a fundraiser for C.H. Campbell and proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing technology for the school.
Along with all the fun and games, dinner was served in the cafeteria. Numerous PTO volunteers helped in all aspects of the evening, from selling raffle tickets to manning the photo booth. C.H. staffers also donated their time to help with the festival.
Canfield High School National Honor Society members also helped with the event to earn volunteer hours.
“We have many NHS high school students helping tonight. We really appreciate their help and I think they like to come back and see their old elementary school,” Durham said.
