Wine for Hope will benefit sick children of the Valley

The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley has scheduled its fifth annual Wine for Hope event for 7 p.m. April 25 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8567 Market St.

Tickets are being sold for $55 per person, which includes gourmet food stations, wine tasting, entertainment, fine wines, cash bar, a silent auction of memorabilia and a collectible wine glass. In addition, courtesy of Komara and new this year, those who become Grand Cru, Sommelier of Vintner sponsors and attend will receive jewelry to wear during the event.

The foundation will feature Jack Gocala Sr., retired Youngstown State University police chief, as honorary chairman this year. Gocala also will receive the H.O.P.E. Award, which stands for honorable, outstanding, philanthropic and excellent, for his lifetime achievement and contributions to the Valley. The prestigious award goes to the person who donates his or her time over a lifetime to children and the community as a whole.

Sponsoring Wine for Hope are television stations WKBN-27 and WTYV-33, radio stations MIX 98.9 and News Radio 570 WKBN, Komara Jewelers, Lamar Advertising Co., Antone’s Banquet Centre, Minuteman Press of Youngstown and Prop Logistics LLC.

The foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to further charitable and financial support and volunteer services to and for chronically and terminally ill children.
