Boil advisory lifted in Cortland

CORTLAND — The boil advisory issued Friday due to a water-tank break on Russell Avenue was lifted today.

City residents had been encouraged to boil their water for two or thee minutes.

A 500,000-gallon tank was emptied, and water pressure in the system dropped below 20 pounds per square inch, requiring the boil advisory, city officials said.
