YOUNGSTOWN

To increase awareness about eating disorders, students in Youngstown State University’s fashion program are presenting “The EveryBODY Fashion Show,” featuring clothing for all body types, at 6 p.m. April 9 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on campus.

Admission is free, and doors open at 5 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Danielle L. Peters Endowment to Promote Awareness of Eating Disorders.

A fashion-merchandising student at YSU, Peters died from complications caused by bulimia in summer 2012 at age 21, said Priscilla Gitimu, YSU associate professor and coordinator of merchandising, fashion and interiors.

Gitimu said Peters’ parents attended the fashion show in 2012 and then started the endowment fund in their daughter’s memory.
