Warren police investigate two weekend gunfire incidents, one resulting in arrest
WARREN — A 55-year-old city woman was one of the targets of two gunfire incidents in the city over the weekend.
The woman reported she was driving a car near the intersection of Parkman Road and Swallow Street at 10:18 p.m. Saturday when gunfire came toward her car.
A friend of hers, a 45-year-old city man, was walking nearby and ducked under the car to avoid being hit. Neither Duke or the male were hit by the gunfire, but the car was hit on the passenger side.
An officer in the area said he heard 10 to 12 shots being fired just before he saw Dukes’ car traveling away at a high rate of speed. She pulled the car into a restaurant parking lot on West Market Street.
Police were also called to South Feederle Avenue Southeast at 3:40 p.m. Sunday for gunshots and arrested Kaylan B. Taylor, 20, of Overlook Drive in Hermitage, Pa., on misdemeanor charges of discharging firearms, carrying a concealed weapon and criminal trespass. No injuries were reported.
Taylor pleaded not guilty on Warren Municipal Court Monday morning and was released after posting a personal-recognizance bond, meaning he didn’t have to pay anything.
