“Cancer: THE EMPEROR OF ALL MALADIES” (9 P.M., PBS): It may not be the easiest thing to watch, but “Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies” is a vital six-hour film from Ken Burns and Barak Goodman that charts the history of the disease and examines the current status of cancer research and treatment.

“The Big Picture With Kal Penn” (9 p.m., NatGeo): The actor and civil servant analyzes criminal operations in the opener of this statistics-, information- and data-based series.

Sculptor to lecture, present workshop

YOUNGSTOWN

Mixed-media sculptor Elizabeth Emery will present a workshop at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bliss Hall, Room 1059 at Youngstown State University, followed by a lecture at 3:30 p.m. at the adjacent McDonough Museum of Art.

Emery’s exhibit “Ambient Time” is installed in the second-floor Judith Rae Solomon Gallery, where a reception will take place at 5 p.m.

Choral concerts

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana Chorale and the University Chorus of Youngstown State University will present free spring choral concerts at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren; and at 7:30 p.m. April 24 at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave.

Titled “Echoes of Love,” the concerts are directed by Hae-Jong Lee and feature Sean Baran, pianist; Abigail McLaughlin, violin; and numerous vocal soloists.

DJ Dr. G will be at Freeway Lanes, 2700 Parkman Road, Warren, Wednesday, beginning at 8 p.m. There will be line dancing, an open mic and free wings.
