BOARDMAN

The Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association has named its Woman of the Year, Bonnie Pannunzio of Austintown, an administrative assistant with the Cafaro Co.

The chapter honored her during its monthly meeting March 10 at Caffe Capri, which featured a presentation by Thomas Welsh, co-author of “Classic Restaurants of Youngstown.” Guests at the sit-down dinner included several of Pannunzio’s family members.

Pannunzio is secretary of the chapter. A longtime member, she has been elected several times to serve one-year terms on the executive board as vice president and secretary. She also has been involved with various chapter committees and fundraisers.

The daughter of the late Tony and Marie Pannunzio, she is an Austintown Fitch High School graduate and a member and past secretary of the Austintown Alumni Association and the Austintown Junior Women’s League. She is an associate member of the Ursuline Center in Canfield and a former volunteer for Beatitude House in Youngstown.

The ABWA provides opportunities for business women in leadership, education, networking support and national recognition. With the community’s support of its fundraisers, the Mill Creek Chapter has provided scholarships since 1962 to hundreds of college students in the area.
