Ambassadors for Christ sets 14th annual cross walk

YOUNGSTOWN

Ambassadors for Christ, an organization of churches on the East Side, will gather at noon Good Friday at We Walk by Faith Bible Church, 1636 Himrod Ave., for the 14th annual “Journey with the Cross.”

All are welcome to participate.

After a prayer, participants will walk with a large wooden cross. Each person has a chance to carry the cross. The group will sing as they walk and occasionally stop at various street corners for prayer and reflection as the Stations of the Cross are read by clergy.

From We Walk by Faith Bible Church, the group will follow Oak Street to downtown, continuing left onto Wick Avenue, left at the federal courthouse on Commerce Street, left onto East Federal Street then over the bridge to Wilson Avenue, concluding at St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church of Holy Apostles Parish.

Transportation will be provided back to the starting point.

Ambassadors for Christ was organized in 2000.

Members are Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Curch, Mount Zion Baptist Church, St. James Church of God in Christ, St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church/Holy Apostles Parish and We Walk By Faith Bible Church.
