Police have arrested a man for impersonating a police officer, a charge the 19-year-old suspect pleaded guilty to less than a year ago.

Police in Barberton in suburban Akron say 19-year-old Michael Bollinger portrayed himself as an officer while helping two women and a man when their car broke down a week ago.

The Akron Beacon Journal reports a pretrial hearing was set for early May after Bollinger’s arrest on Monday.

Court records don’t indicate an attorney for Bollinger to comment on the charge.

Police charged Bollinger last May with misrepresenting himself to an officer, impersonating an officer and obstructing official police business.

Records show Bollinger pleaded guilty in July to impersonating an officer, was placed on probation and ordered to undergo counseling and treatment.
