UPDATE | Fire at Asphalt Solutions started in vacant house next to the business

YOUNGSTOWN — Alvin Ware, city fire investigator, says a fire at a Market Street asphalt business March 19 started in a vacant house adjacent to the building.

Capt. Alvin Ware said there is still no official cause for the fire that destroyed Asphalt Solutions, 706 1/2 Market St.

Ware said the house almost directly touched the building. He said there were no utilities on in the house and it was filled with tires.

Ware said he is investigating as well as two insurance companies for the owners of the building and the business.
