On March 13, Brandon White led the Young Movers Assembly at the Poland elementary schools. In the assembly, White strove to teach students about the importance of character and stressed anti-bullying.

White has traveled across 45 states spreading this message, with a fine mixture of dancing and various performing arts techniques to involve and entertain students to get excited about what he had to say. When White was in high school he went to see a speaker at a camp for a student council event who changed his life.

“I was inspired to change lives the way he did,” White said.

Preceding the assembly, Principal Michael Masucci announced to his students how lucky they were to have such a dedicated and extraordinary speaker.

To start his presentation White stressed to students the value of having positive energy and taking positive risks. This presentation being at the third school of the day, White didn’t put any less of this positive energy into motivating students to break free of their barriers and to be brave. White invited students to the stage to dance alone, with each other and with him, a form of bravery.

“I really like when students and staff come up and tell me about my presentation — how it affected them in their lives,” White said.

This event was sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Organization to further education about anti-bullying.
