Poland Relay for Life scheduled for June 13

The Poland Relay for Life will be introducing a new date and time schedule for the 2015 relay event.

The Relay will begin at noon on June 13 at the Poland Seminary High School Stadium and end at 6 a.m. on June 14.

This new schedule will offer most relay activities during the first day of the event. The relay will still have traditional Survivor recognition at 6 p.m. with the dinner following. Nighttime games and activities after the Luminaria ceremony will be at 10 p.m.

There will be a Kids’ Relay Party with planned activities from 12:30-2:30 p.m. for all children ages 10 and under. These activities will include crafts, games, “Celebrating More Birthdays” cake and the Grotto Clowns.

In recognition of Relay for Life’s 30th anniversary, the first 30 children to enter the relay event will receive a free T-shirt. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Poland Relay for Life is sponsoring a contest to design this T-shirt. The winning T-shirt designer will have his or her winning design featured on the T-shirt and also win a $50 gift card. Entry forms can be picked up at the customer service desk at the Poland Giant Eagle on Center Road in Poland.

Immediately following the Kid’s Relay Party, the first Miss Relay Pageant will begin. Girls from 0–18 years of age may compete in this pageant. Poland residency is not required. All contestants will receive a free T-shirt, sash and trophy. Rules, awards and pageant details can be found on the entry forms available at the customer service desk at the Poland Giant Eagle.
