Memorial in works for Chardon victims

CHARDON

A committee is working to raise funds and finalize design plans for a memorial park to honor the victims of a 2012 Northeast Ohio school shooting.

Committee members presented the design this week to the Chardon School Board, The News-Herald in Willoughby reported. The memorial will honor the three students killed and several others injured during a shooting at Chardon High School on Feb. 27, 2012.

Committee members said they won’t set a construction date for the park until they reach their funding goal of $300,000.
