Mendez pleads guilty to child-endangering charge

WARREN — Tedy Mendez II, 24, of Laird Avenue Southeast and Western Reserve Place in Austintown, pleaded guilty today to two counts of child endangering related to the injuries suffered by his 4-year-old daughter in January.

Gabe Wildman, assistant Trumbull County prosecutor, said the girl suffered a skull fracture, broken arm, and bruising “from head to toe” while under the supervision of Mendez and his girlfriend, Kayla Liller, 20, who is also charged.

Wildman said he will recommend a six-year prison term for Mendez, who will be sentenced by Judge W. Wyatt McKay in about four weeks.
