Youngstown police use stun gun in man's arrest

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found a .38-caliber revolver and a bag of suspected marijuana on a man they arrested at a domestic disturbance about 11:10 p.m. Monday on the South Side.

Darrell Stokes, 44, is charged with carrying concealed weapons, being a felon in possession of a firearm, assault, resisting arrest, illegal conveyance of weapons and obstructing official business.

Police were called to a home in the 800 block of Lakewood Avenue. A woman who said she was Stokes’ wife said he was knocking on her door and she wanted him to leave.

Reports said Stokes resisted requests to leave and be handcuffed. Police said they had to use an electronic stun gun twice before Stokes was able to be handcuffed.
