Warren police release photo of white car that might have been involved in fatal crash

WARREN

Warren police released a photo of a white automobile that may have been involved in a fatal pickup truck accident March 12 on West Market Street.

The photograph from the surveillance video of a West Market Street gas station shows a white car passing the gas station at 4:35 p.m. just ahead of a cloud of dust.

Police believe the dust came from the accident, which killed Alyssa B. Wynn and injured Jodi Weaver, 40, and her son, Jonathan Wynn, 10.

It’s difficult to tell what type of car it is, but Weaver, the driver of the pickup truck and mother of the 17-year-old Warren G. Harding High School senior who died, said the vehicle was a white Honda Civic.

Police would like to talk to the driver of the white car, said Patrolman Ben Harrell, Warren police traffic investigator.

Weaver told police the man in the white car was about 30 years old and had a chipped or missing tooth and that he gave Weaver an obscene gesture at the traffic light at Austin Avenue and West Market Street just before cutting her off and causing her to lose control.

The pickup truck rolled a couple of times and came to rest against the Raider Lounge between Austin Avenue and the gas station where the surveillance photo was taken.

Anyone with information is asked to call Harrell at 330-841-2797.
