Phantoms set record in win

A rare Sunday afternoon game in Chicago gave the USHL’s hottest team a chance to break the league record for consecutive victories.

A goal from Kyle Connor with less than five minutes remaining in a tie game with the Steel lifted the Youngstown Phantoms to their 17th win in a row, 4-3.

The win set a new USHL Tier-1 era record, dating back to 2002. The Phantoms are now 36-13-5 with a league-leading 77 points. Their last loss was on Jan. 31.
