Library schedules lunch and signing

The Poland Library, 311 Main St., has planned a Lunch and Book Signing with Beverly Lewis, who will speak about her new book, “The Love Letters,” at noon Wednesday in the library’s meeting room.

This best-selling author has won numerous awards. Her new book comes out the day before her Poland appearance.

Doors will open at noon, and lunch begins at 12:30 p.m., with a presentation by the author. Ticket prices are $25 for members of the Literary Society and $35 for nonmembers.

‘Struthers Revisited’ brings more photos

Local author Patricia Ringos Beach’s pictorial history book “Images of America: Struthers Revisited” from Arcadia Publishing is set to be published April 27.

The collection of images tells stories of accomplishment, struggle and everyday life in Struthers. Photos of schools, churches, small grocery stores, businesses, eateries, parks and playgrounds will remind readers of a familiar yet historical time.

Beach grew up in Struthers, and her parents were lifelong residents. A graduate of Struthers High School, she went on to become a nurse and lives in Toledo with her husband, Dan.
