Submit info for Holy Week, Easter

The Vindicator will run a listing of area services that are open to the public in observance of Palm Sunday, March 29; Holy Thursday, April 2; Good Friday, April 3; Holy Saturday, April 4; and Easter, April 5.

The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. Wednesday. Publication will be next Saturday.

Information should include the denomination and name of the church, address, city or suburb, the day, time, type of service, your name and a phone number for verification.

Easter musical

Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., will present “All Things New,” an Easter musical, at 11 a.m. March 29.

Passion narrative

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Rev. Mike Ackerman, parochial vicar of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Glenshaw, Pa., will speak on the Passion narratives at 7 p.m. Thursday at El Canelo III, 2017 W. State St.

Community service

West Austintown United Methodist Church, 6749 Mahoning Ave., will be the site of a community Good Friday service at noon with the Rev. Mark Nelson of Austintown Community Church preaching.

Sandra Powell will be soloist.

Lenten concert

LOWELLVILLE

The Wade Raridon Singers will present a concert of sacred Lenten music at 7 p.m. Friday Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 131 E. Wood St.

This chorus is composed of alumni of Youngstown University Chorus, Dana Chorale and voice students of Dr. and Mrs. Raridon. The Raridons are retired professors from the Dana School of Music. A free-will offering will be taken.

Graham on DVD

CORTLAND

True stories of two people who came face to face with death and a message from Billy Graham about what happens when this life is over will be featured in a DVD presentation at the 11 a.m. service March 29 at Cortland Trinity Baptist Church, 2576 McCleary Jacoby Road. Good Friday service

YOUNGSTOWN

The YMCA of Youngstown Spiritual Emphasis Committee will sponsor the annual Good Friday breakfast service from 7:15 to 8:45 a.m. April 3 at the downtown Y, 17 N. Champion St.

Pastor Rafael Cruz of Unity Baptist Church in Boardman will deliver the message.

Music will be by Tiffany Sokol.

Taiz prayer

VILLA MARIA, PA.

Villa Maria will host Taiz prayer at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Magnificat Chapel.

Participants will gather around the cross for prayer in the tradition of the ecumenical monastery of Taiz , France. This Christian interdenominational prayer form includes music, Scripture and silence. Light refreshments and fellowship will follow.
