Youngstown CityScape kicked off its fundraising effort today for it annual Streetscape beautification program.

Streetscape, in its 18th year, focuses on downtown and nearby areas. The event is from 8 a.m. to noon May 30.

CityScape also announced today a $35,000 check from the Youngstown Foundation. The money will be used to help fund the organization’s operations and the Streetscape program though how much would go toward each hasn’t been determined, said Sharon Letson, CityScape’s executive director.

The organization also unveiled its updated website — youngstowncityscape.org — that allows, for the first time, people to donate to CityScape online.
