Results of Thursday’s girls state semifinals in Columbus


DIVISION III

Versailles 54, Doylestown Chippewa 43

Freshman Kami McEldowney’s 13 points led three Versailles players in double-figure scoring, and clutch free-throw shooting helped the Tigers beat top-ranked Doylestown Chippewa. The Tigers (25-4) hit 9 of 10 foul shots after Chippewa (28-1) pulled to within 45-41 with 2 minutes left at Ohio State’s Value City Arena. McEldowney went 4-for-5 from the line in that span. Lauren Bruns and Taylor Winner each had 12 points for Versailles. Ashley Richardson had 18 points for Chippewa.

Ottawa-Glandorf 55, Proctorville Fairland 27

Elissa Ellerbrock had 11 points and nine rebounds for Ottawa-Glandorf. Erin Basinger added 10 points. Ottawa-Glandorf had an easy time against the Dragons, who were 2 for 14 from the floor in trailing 27-10 at halftime. Fairland got no closer than 15 in the second half and were down 40-17 after three quarters. The Dragons shot 7 for 32 for the game, including 1 of 12 on three-pointers. Kelsey Riley led the Dragons with 22 points. Ottawa-Glandorf is now 26-2.

DIVISION IV

Fort Laramie 45, Berlin Hiland 36

Kelly Turner and Jessica Boerger each had 10 points as Fort Loramie defeated top-ranked Berlin Hiland. Fort Loramie (25-4) led by 10 with seven minutes to play but Hiland (27-2) got to within 39-34 before Boerger hit three free throws and Janell Hoying made a foul shot to make it 43-34 with 43 seconds left. Hiland trailed 19-18 at the half before Fort Loramie increased its lead to 33-25 going into the fourth quarter. Kennedy Schlabach had 15 points and Angela Troyer 10 for Hiland.

Waterford 42, Fostoria St. Wendelin 36

Megan Ball hit a layup with 1:49 to play to put Waterford ahead and the Wildcats scored the final 10 points. St. Wendelin (24-5) led 36-32 before Waterford’s Dani Drayer hit a three-pointer. Drayer, who led Waterford with 11 points, made two free throws with 13 seconds left. Kamryn Troike had 18 points St. Wendelin.
