Man tells city police he was robbed on Parkview Avenue

YOUNGSTOWN — A man told police he was robbed at a home in the 700 block of Parkview Avenue on the South Side about 12:20 a.m. Friday.

The 19-year-old Liberty man said in a police report he went to visit a friend whose real name he did not know and when he knocked on the door a man jammed a gun into his neck and took his cellphone and some cash.

The man called police from a nearby store, reports said. Reports said officers checked the house but found no signs anyone was there.
