Identity theft in Boardman

BOARDMAN

A woman from Buffalo, Ohio faces a fifth-degree felony identity fraud charge after she turned herself in to township police Thursday.

Police say that Rochelle Kelley, 26, stole the identity of her ex-boyfriend's sister, who reported to police Jan. 29 that someone had opened up a gas company account using her name.

The victim said she learned the account, which had $350 charged to it, was opened sometime in 2010, and the corresponding address was for a location where she never lived.

The victim told police that Kelley was the likely suspect.

Kelley was arraigned on the charge in Mahoning County Area Court here Thursday.
