Brush Knife Needle Folks meets from 9 to 11:45 a.m. every Tuesday at the Senior Independence Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Each participant uses a brush and canvas, knife and wood, needle and yarn or any material or tool to create a desired subject. New members are welcome to share or learn a craft. Round Table Woodcarvers meets every Thursday from 9 to 11:45 a.m. at the Senior Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Visitors are welcome to watch and learn. Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection is hosting a “Springtime Shopping” luncheon and program beginning at 11:30 a.m. April 8 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The Art Cafe Pottery and Painting Studio will be featured, and music will be provided by Kathy Dyer. Guest speaker will be Dolores Mitson on “Look Out Life, Here I Come.” The cost for the event is $13. Reservations must by made by April 1, and cancellations are necessary. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Hubbard Public Library will meet Monday in the library meeting room. Social time is 6 p.m., and the meeting is at 6:30.

Friends of the Leetonia Community Public Library are having a reorganizational meeting at 6:15 p.m. April 9. New officers are needed as well as volunteers to help continue the work of the friends and fundraising to help with the summer reading program, keeping eBooks accessible to the public, paying for special events and more.

Girard Golden Eagles Lodge 643 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Amen Corner in Girard.

POLITICAL GROUPS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club will tour the Board of Elections for its April 1 meeting. Meet at the Mahoning County Republican Headquarters on state Route 224 to board a bus. Be there by 11 a.m. for an 11:15 departure, and return will be about 1:30 p.m. The cost is $13 per person. A box lunch will be provided. All are welcome. SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Care Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., Canfield.

F.O.C.U.S, a breast cancer support group, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the dining at The Manor, 3104 S. Niles-Canfield Road. A speaker from Tudor Physical Therapy will discuss lymphedema. All are welcome.

R-Weigh Weight Support Group meets each Monday at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. Afternoon meeting weigh-ins take place from 1 to 1:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 1:45.
