New principals at both Youngstown Catholic high schools

YOUNGSTOWN

Both of Youngstown’s Catholic high schools will have new principals — and they’re both familiar faces.

Matthew Sammartino, Ursuline’s assistant principal for student services since 2009, will be that school’s principal, effective July 1. Mark Vollmer, interim Cardinal Mooney High School principal since mid-January, officially assumes the role immediately.

Both announcements were made Thursday.
