COMMUNITY GARDEN WORKSHOP

What: If you are interested in growing vegetables and helping your community, this is the event for you. Eric Barrett will be there to answer your growing questions. Barb Delisio will share her knowledge of working with community gardens throughout the area.

DRAWING ON NATURE
When: Sunday, 2 p.m.
What: Learn to use nature as inspiration to create one-of-a kind pieces of artwork. Adults and children will learn scientific illustration techniques and walk away with a finished piece at the end of the program.
Details: Registration required. Limited to 15 participants. All supplies will be provided. However, if participants want to bring their own supplies, they can.

Landscape Pruning Clinic
When: Monday, 6-8 p.m.
What: Join Eric Barrett to learn to prune roses, shrubs and trees.
Where: Extension office, 490 S. Broad St., Canfield.
Cost: $20, includes pruners.

Sunday Brunch
When: Tuesday, Wednesday, 6:30–8:30 p.m.
What: Demonstration and tasting. Chef David Armstrong brings Sunday Brunch to the table for dinner. Dine on smoothies, decked-out scrambled eggs, fruit, coffee cake and more.

SCHOOL GARDEN WORKSHOP
When: April 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
What: This workshop is for those interested in starting or working with School/Youth Center Greenhouses and Gardens. We’ll cover all kinds of garden activities and resources to get your school garden rolling.
Where: Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, state Route 46, Canfield.
Cost: $35/person, includes lunch, handouts, and activities to take home.

Gardening Basics: Garden Design Theory II
When: March 27, 10 a.m.-noon.
What: Garden Design Theory II class builds on material from first class and expands students’ ability to look at gardens through eyes of designer. Bridget Beck, garden designer, will introduce students to some famous and not-so-famous gardens and examine why they “work” in terms of design, then examine current gardening projects and brainstorm ideas and solutions as a group.
