Four arrested for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon

CAMPBELL — Police arrested four people early this morning for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Two of them were minors.

Two males, age 19 and 14, reported to police that they were robbed at a house on Sanderson Avenue.

The two were invited to the house through social media by a 15-year-old girl of Boardman. The two met her and Mackenzie Kushnir, 20, of Campbell, who told them to go to the rear of the house to hang out, the police report states.

The report states that Darnell Penwell, 18, of Youngstown and a Campbell boy, 17, are accused of taking the two males' wallets and phones. Penwell allegedly pointed a handgun at them while the boy was holding a silver baseball bat.

The two girls admitted to police that they had set up the victims, according to police. Penwell and the other boy appeared at the station and said they were just scaring the two victims.

Police transported the four to Mahoning County jail pending a court appearance on Friday.
