Prep work will reduce lanes on U.S. Route 224 over state Route 11

CANFIELD

Prep work will reduce lanes on U.S. Route 224 over state Route 11 Wednesday and Thursday to one lane between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

That prep work is to remove the concrete median, the start of a $6.5 million construction project to replace and widen the Route 224 bridge over Route 11 as well as widen Raccoon Road at 224. There will also be lanes added to the Raccoon/Route 224 intersection and the Route 11 southbound ramp to 224.

The total project is expected to be completed by October.
