Man stabbed in neck

YOUNGSTOWN

Police reports said a man stabbed in the neck Saturday morning at a home in the 1400 block of Woodcrest Avenue on the East Side told officers he remembers nothing but drinking.

Officers were called to the home about 2:45 a.m. and found Lynn Bowden, 35, resting against a fence with a stab wound. Officers went inside and smelled a strong odor of bleach, and the floor in the dining room was wet. A wet mop was left on the floor, and there were some small blood spots in the kitchen, reports said. A woman in the home told police she wiped clean a steak knife.

Reports said police were able to determine Bowden and the woman, 26, had been drinking, and Bowden was stabbed after he threatened her.

The woman was taken to the police department for questioning, but no charges have been filed.

Police found a dose of heroin and two suboxone strips on a Lisbon man who was pulled over after officers received a tip from Ohio Investigative Units about erratic driving about 8:50 p.m. Saturday.

The agents spotted a pickup truck at a U.S. Route 224 and Raccoon Road gas station that backed into a pylon, then drove away without stopping. They followed the vehicle to Youngstown.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and police eventually caught up with the car in the first block of South Meridan Road. The driver, Joseph Kloos, 26, of Stookesberry Road, Lisbon, refused to take his hands out of his pockets, and when he did, he was spotted throwing away the dose of heroin. Police found the suboxone strips in his wallet and a burnt spoon in the center console.

Kloos was taken to the Mahoning County jail on charges of possession of heroin, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
