Finance panel to meet

Youngstown City Council’s finance committee will meet at 5 p.m. today in the council caucus room, sixth floor, city hall, 26 S. Phelps St. The proposed legislation regarding 2015 budget will be discussed.

Crime Watch

The Beaver Township Police monthly Crime Watch meeting will take place next Tuesday in the activity center at Shepherd of the Valley, 9111 Sharrott Road. Roxann Sebest, former TV reporter and now director of marketing at United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, will be the guest speaker.

Sex offense probed

AUSTINTOWN

Township police are investigating a sex offense involving two juveniles. A 4-year-old girl told her mother that her 17-year-old cousin had exposed himself to the child twice in one day. On the second occasion that day, the boy tried to get the 4-year-old to touch his genitals and told the girl not to tell. The mother told police she had contacted Children Services, and Austintown authorities are investigating.
