Amy Grant and Michael Smith coming to Stambaugh

A concert featuring Christian singers Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith will come to Stambaugh Auditorium, 100 Fifth Ave., on May 11.

The duo will perform classic hymns as well as their biggest hits. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. to stambaughauditorium.com, at 330-259-0555 and at the venue box office.

Grant is a six-time Grammy winner who started out as a Christian artist, transitioned to a crossover mainstream artist, and then returned to her Christian roots. Her 1991 album, “Heart in Motion,” included hits such as “Baby Baby” and “Every Heartbeat.” She became the first Contemporary Christian artist to score a platinum album, the first to hit No. 1 on the pop charts, and the first to perform at the Grammys. She’s sold more than 30 million albums and received 26 Dove Awards, including four Artist of the Year honors.

Smith has sold more than 15 million albums in his 30-year career, scored 28 No. 1 hits, and received more than 40 Dove Awards.
